Hubon Madiaas Studios is located at the airport district of Iloilo City, five minutes by car from the Iloilo Airport Terminal. Five kilometers away from dowtown Iloilo City, the studio, also the studio-residence of Hubon Madiaas founder, Ed Defensor, is located in the compound of present Iloilo 3rd District Congressman, Arthur D. Defensor.
The studio offers as an attraction a Sculpture and Bonsai Garden, conceptualized and built by Ed Defensor; studios for
painting, sculpture, printmaking; an informal gallery; enough space for installation and other arts the group engage in;
members of the group working on the spot on group or individual art activites, and unique artworks plastered all over the studio and grounds.
The list of visitors that have visited the studio in recent
years include foreign artists, ambassadors of foreign countries,
directors of art foundations, balikabayan Filipinos, curious tourists, scholars and researchers, art collectors, and students from all over Iloilo province. The studio is also the refuge for local artists who
are lost, hungry, or unable to find a place to temporarily stay in.
Forever in the state of development, Hubon Madiaas Studios
now stands as one of the art attractions of, and presently the only communal art studio in, the city and province of Iloilo.
